Google Pixel Watch – carry your time with you

Google Pixel Watch – carry your time with you

Google launched its first smartwatch, “Google Pixel Watch” on 6th October this year. If you are a google lover then you might have already seen the watch. On first look, it’s a round design dial with thick bezels on the sides. The device is based on Fitbit Technology, which offers health features like sleep tracking, heart rate monitoring, and much more. However, you can only use it with Android devices. So, if you are planning to buy this watch here is the complete detail about it.

Display

The Google Pixel Watch comes with a 1.20-inch display that offers a resolution of up to 450 x 450 pixels and a brightness of 1000 nits. From the images, it is clear that it has very high bezels. However, to hide this thing google has introduced black UI into it which is not muchly noticeable in day-to-day usage.

The 1000nits brightness is sufficient to use the watch in the daytime, you can easily read messages, attend calls, and much more with this smartwatch.

To reduce the battery consumption in this device, Google has introduced the OFF display setting. So you need to click once to access your smartwatch.

Overall, it is a pack of solid displays with huge brightness, the only thing that has to be improved is its thick bezels.

Build & Design

On the display, it has Corning of Gorilla Glass 5 and on the back side, it has glossy plastic with a frame made up of stainless steel. The overall weight of the device is about 36grams.

The watch is best small handed people because its overall size is about 40mm. However, this also resulted in small battery size. If we talk about the straps, the watch is very comfortable to wear, because of its lightweight you won’t find it hard to wear all day and night. The round design of the watch makes it attractive but you should be careful because it gets stretched easily.

Battery

The Google Pixel Watch is powered by a 294mAh battery and supports Qi wireless charging. Google claims that it takes around 15 minutes to charge from 10% to 45% while full charging will take around 1 hour only.

If you are going to use all the SpO2, heart rate monitoring, and sleep tracking then you can expect a battery life of up to 18 hours. So, if you want to use it every time then you need to hunt for the charging point twice in 24 hours.

However, if you don’t use the health features then you will easily have up to 24 hours. Yes, we can say that battery life is good but not solid.

Health and fitness tracking

All your fitness data is monitored by the Fitbit application. You also get Fitbit premium subscription for 6 Months. This watch runs on WearOS 3.5 but on the backend uses Fitbit tech. The Pixel has sensors like Accelerometer, gyro, altimeter, compass, and ECG. All the sensors work perfectly amazing, especially the heart sensor because it captures data every second. Overall, the Google Pixel is a very accurate smartwatch, so you don’t need to worry about health data.

Bluetooth & 4G LTE

If you want to use an eSIM feature in this device then you need to pay a little more. However, this smartwatch doesn’t support 5G connectivity. Also, it has Bluetooth 5.0 only, on the other hand, budget smartphones offer Bluetooth 5.3.

The mic integrated into this watch is also excellent, the other person on the call will be able to hear your voice without any kind of background noise. If you are going to purchase the base variant with just Bluetooth/Wi-fi facility, then you need to connect it to your smartphone. However, an eSIM will give an edge to use it alone.
